New Chair of Sussex Oakleaf

The Board of Sussex Oakleaf are pleased to announce the election of Graham Maunders to the position of Chair. Graham was elected at the organisation’s AGM on 30 November 2012. Graham was appointed following a rigorous recruitment process which involved Board members, staff and clients alike.

Graham, who grew up in Haywards Heath and has been a Sussex resident throughout his life, brings over 35 years of experience in social housing and regeneration: through his work for local authorities, housing associations and as Investment Planning Manager for Sussex, Surrey and Kent with the Housing Corporation. He was a founding Board member of Mid Sussex Housing Association and a statutory appointee onto the Board of Brighton Housing Trust. In 2006 he established Graham Maunders Associates Housing & Regeneration Consultancy which focuses on governance, strategy and operational effectiveness.

Graham is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He is a past Chair and committee member of the CIH South East Regional Committee and in 2010 was elected to CIH National Council. He is currently a member of the CIH national Improve Board.

Commenting on his new appointment, Graham said: “ I am absolutely delighted to be joining Sussex Oakleaf whose culture, approach and quality of delivery I have long admired. At a time of increasing need the range of services we provide are vital. Sussex Oakleaf is well placed to help meet the challenges ahead and I very much look forward to working with everyone to take the organisation forward and build on its significant achievements to date.”
