A little time from our volunteers makes a world of difference.
A massive “thank you” to our volunteers!
This National Volunteers Week we want to say ‘thanks a million’ to the many wonderful volunteers who give their time and talents to Sussex Oakleaf.
We’re honoured to work with over 100 volunteers who give us so much time and add value to our community support services. If it wasn’t for these generous people many of our services would not be able to operate in the way that they do. They do everything from carry out administration tasks, support groups, work in our cafes and help to run events, to give just a few examples.
“100%!!! Necessary/life saver - can see continual improvement. Sussex Oakleaf has been essential for me.”

Sussex Oakleaf would not be able to provide many of the additional things we do without the contribution of volunteers. While we always make sure we show our gratitude and appreciation to our volunteers year-round, National Volunteers Week is set aside to remind everyone just how much volunteers do to support us. They bring their individual skills, experiences, and come from various backgrounds. They add to the ethos of the organisation in a positive way with their enthusiasm, spontaneity, aptitude and dedication.
“Immeasurable! Saved my life, very important to be part of this organisation. It’s given me drive, empowered me and I really believe in it.’
Our volunteers offer their time for a variety of reasons. Many have a personal connection with Sussex Oakleaf and use our services or have perhaps had friends, relatives or loved ones who have used our services. Others are keen to learn about health and social care or simply wish to give something back to the local community.
“Putting something back! Feeling useful instead of useless. It was suggested by my Key Worker as part of my recovery process & I enjoy it!”
