These services offer accommodation and 24 hour support to individuals, male and female, from diverse backgrounds living with enduring mental health conditions and who may have other additional support needs. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and have also worked with a number of people who have Korsakoff Syndrome.
They provide clients with confidence, skills, and choices to enable them to work towards becoming as self-reliant and independent as possible, to promote fulfilment and an enhanced quality of life.
The nature of the support is very much community focussed, with peer support and client involvement being key components, alongside appropriate positive risk taking, which is viewed as an essential part of learning and recovery.
Recovery focussed, goal orientated, plans are drawn up between the key worker and the client using the Mental Health Recovery Star as a tool to help identify and meet the needs, wishes, and choices of each individual. These plans recognise each person’s uniqueness, promote recovery and empowerment, build on strengths, and encourage self-management.
“I am quite satisfied now, but was a bit worried before about an accumulation of things, but with a bit of luck I think things are sorting out now.”
