Community Wellbeing Services: East Sussex

what_we_do

Sussex Oakleaf are commissioned to provide Day Services in East Sussex based on the ethos of recovery and social inclusion for adults with mental health issues, offering social and structured support to members. All clients receive individual support designed to enable them to meet their personal needs and goals helping them to gain the confidence to engage with activities of their choice. The focus for example can be on volunteering, educational courses at local colleges, employment, spirituality, sports and exercise or creative activities such as music, drama or art.

The project enables clients to engage with activities that promote recovery including peer support; encouraging use of local community resources; participation in cultural events; support to increase physical activities and a clear role in influencing decisions in service provision and in all areas of life that affect them. Members are supported to attend a range of regular wellbeing activities at the Centres, including healthy eating sessions, walking groups, reading workshops, confidence building courses, sport, relaxation as well as drop in social groups at other local community venues.

Partnerships with other voluntary and statutory agencies provide additional facilitated groups and courses at the Centres including Rethink, Survivors, Health in Mind and Sussex Downs College.
