From mid-March, Sussex Oakleaf will be running our popular course in Peer Mentoring again. The course is an excellent way to learn new skills, meet new people and gain confidence.
The course lasts for 12 weeks and offers learners a chance to gain an accredited qualification in Peer Mentoring. The course covers everything you need to know to support others with their mental health and provides learners with a chance to put their own personal experiences to good use.
To find out more about the course and to discuss whether it is the right choice for you, please come along to our information morning on Tuesday 27 February at 10am at HAMSVA Community Room, Delmon House, 36-38 Church Road Burgess Hill, RH15 9AE. The information morning will give you a chance to meet the tutor and our Peer Mentoring coordinator.
“I used to be a client of Sussex Oakleaf. Now I am employed here as a Peer Mentor. When I was a client, I could barely get out of the house. My Recovery Worker helped me to join groups and meet new people. Eventually I became a volunteer, which in turn led to my current job at Sussex Oakleaf. We are all equals at Sussex Oakleaf – it doesn’t matter whether you are a client or Chief Executive, we all respect each other. Being given a job here has really given me a sense of self worth. I love it!” – Rose, Peer Mentor
If you have any queries about the course then please do not hesitate to contact the Sussex Oakleaf offices for more information.
