Volunteers play a huge role in the work that Sussex Oakleaf does. Just last year, volunteers provided nearly 2,000 hours of support to the organisation and help to take us closer to our vision of a world where people with mental illness and mental health issues are inspired and supported to fulfil their potential and to live their lives as independently as possible.
We recruit volunteers in a range of roles from supporting clients one to one, to running groups and activities in the community to working behind the scenes on administrative tasks.

Sussex Oakleaf run an accredited twelve-week course in Peer Mentoring. The course, which runs twice a year in Crawley and Mid Sussex, is the best place to start if you are interested in volunteering with us.
Joining the free course will help you to learn how to use your own lived experience to support others and will also help you learn skills like professional boundaries, dealing with difficult situations and confidentiality.
